Hi everybody,

I’m Jacopo Barbati, I was born in Pescara (Italy) on 28/04/1988 and I’m studying Political Sciences – International Relations at Teramo State University (Italy)

My experience in JEF began on June, 2006 when I attended (as an observer) some workshops during the II European Citizen Convention that was held in Wien.

After that, I started interesting in JEF and its struggles and I attended some national seminars. On March, 2007 I created a new JEF local section in my city, Pescara, of which I became the Secretary General. During the same month, I attended the pre-FC “Clash of Civilizations” seminar in Berlin. On May, 2007 I was elected as a member of the Italian JEF FC during the Italian JEF Congress in Prato; and on August, 2007 I attended the summer-camp “United”, organized by JEF-Norway, and the “JEF Training Days” organized by JEF-Europe in Bruges. That was also an opportunity to attend the opening of the “European Vibes” Tour. Finally, I attended also the event “Youth4Europe” who was held in split, on September 2007.

During this year, full in experiences (besides those seminars I was active in street actions such as the Belarus action or the signatures-collections for the European referendum or European Cafès and others to inform people; moreover I wrote something for The New Federalist and for jeftalk), I matured the convinction of our struggle and fight in order to get a federal Europe, with a constitution and clear rights for all of the citizens.

And JEF should have a big role for this, in my opinion. Young people, volunteers and motivated, interested in politics (= community life) who want and have to inform and involve as more citizens as possible. In order to spread consciousness. We need informed and conscious citizens. Social life need this.

For this I’m ready to put all my energises, my efforts and my time, and who already knows me knows also that what I’m saying now it’s true.

For all these reasons I want to pay the confidence that JEF-Italy put on me naming me as a delegate for the Congress, and I would like to candidate for the FC, in order to going on putting all my energises and efforts for the JEF-Europe.
