Dear all,  

Following the discussions that have been going on recently about the future of JEF, I’d like to inform you that I have decided to stand for the Vice Presidency of JEF Europe.   

I know that for most of you this might sound like many changes in very few days, but I think that it is very important to have a coherent and strong team that desires to work together and I believe that I can help in that sense.  I believe that I can favour the strengthening of the links between the European level and the national sections. In particular I’d like to encourage the organisation of a coherent campaign for JEF Europe that would be broadly supported throughout our sections and used as a tool for our members.

Furthermore, the contacts I have created while I was President of JEF France (2 years ago) might be very useful for the organisation during the coming French Presidency of the EU. 

I believe that the coming period will be very important for our organisation. We have a solid basis in various national sections, but we need to find a new impulse; a new issue to fight for after the deception of the Constitutional Treaty. This new fight is not about changing our main objective, which is to achieve the constitution of a federal Europe, but it’s about the way to achieve it and how to mobilize the whole of our organisation, the sections and the members in the same direction. We have proven that we are able to organise ourselves and we need to find again this spirit. Furthermore, I believe that it is very important that we start a real political training programme for our members. The work that has been started recently with the renewal of the political platform and the documents produced by the different PC’s and WG’s can be very useful in that perspective. Now, they have to be used and made available for all sections.  

With my involvement in the next EB, I’d like to help spreading this dynamic for political training and campaigning and to make sure that the actions developed will be put in place in close cooperation with the sections.
